I put together an xl worksheet with all parts named, pictured and dimensioned.  Also auto calculation of many parameters given knowns - useful for scroungers like me who (e.g.) can track down a bunch tubes of various dimensions (which should be chosen close to the gek ratios, also calculated) which then determine flange dimensions.
If there's any excel masters who want to make it better pls. do.

Due to filesize restriction I post on google docs:

christ that;s annoying, I can't paste a url since the system tags it and max tag length is 25 char. so I broke it into 3 lines

anyone who wants the damn file can write me ,

new version - with improved dimension dependencies
plus I added a bugcheck section where a series of checks are made-
that things fit together, no impossible overlaps, etc.

jeremy, this is a really impressive reordering of the cad files for the gek.   thank you for doing it, and helping us all figure out how to better present this material to make building easier.

however, to make things more difficult, i've now posted the v3.5 and v4.0 files.  at some point we'll want to update your .xls spreadsheet with the new files.

the new files are here:

v3.5: http://gekgasifier.p...eet-metal-parts

v4.0: http://gekgasifier.p...eet-metal-parts

I put a new gek 3.5 excel diy file up.  All the ring dimensions are calculated from the tube dimensions - so change the tubes (given your obtainium) and the rings will change accordingly.  no guarantees that you won't hit a corner condition.  PLUS - an automatic dxf file is generated when you hit the big button on the top.   PLUS - the rutman/grisha bandit-tech gek 3.5 variant is in there too.

btw who keeps munging up the cone calculator at

I fixed it again...the idea is: put your values in at the top (Dlg, Dsm, H) in the tan section, and the rest (the blue section) gets calculated. If you type over anything in the blue section you will destroy the formula there.  then the next guy will puzzle over why he/she is getting an angle of 2000 degrees.
