Hi all,
Since SOFC fuel cells are not readily available to us as individuals at least, second method would be to filter the syngas and take the H2 out of the CO and other components.
The technology exists http://www.mtrinc.co..._processes.html, but how can we get a hold on a device like this?
Hydrogen fuel cells are more readily available.Imagine a gasifier and a fuel cell to get electricity without a engine noise and all its inefficiencies and hassles inherit.
Any ideas?

You are right this a possible way forward. The link you gave looks like a real refinery pieice of equipment and is probably designed for pressures like 30 bar or more. Also throughput is much more than a GEK will produce. The place to look is Universities who may have similar equipment, but have stopped using it. That is more in the throughput range we are looking for: 1,5 l wood gas per minute.
