The Institute of  Chemical Process and Environmental Technology at the National Research Council of Canada is planning to purchase a GEK gasifier to conduct lab scale experiments. The goal of these experiments is to produce syngas using biomass (wood or biochar). Air and steam will be used as gasification agents. The syngas will then be fed for gas cleaning system to remove particulate, H2S and potentially tars. The gas will be condition to meet fuel cell requirements.
