here's the new way we're doing the belted kohler genset skid that mounts on the power pallet.  previously the engine and gearhead were side by side, which requires a longer belt.  there's some attraction to this shorter belt form.  more importantly for the rest of the show, this orientation leaves side areas that better support the gasifier control unit, battery, and ac distribution box mounting that also needs to happen.  the combination will work either way, but currently we like this one better.

again, the reason we're doing this belted and not direct drive is so that the user can make the engine go as fast or slow as desired/needed.   power vs quiet/longevity can be adjusted to meet particular needs.  run the engine at a quiet 1000rpm and low power, or run it at 3000rpm for max power.  we deliver it at 2400rpm engine for 1800rpm into the 4 pole genhead.   small scale person energy stations often benefit from this type of flexibility.

we have two of these going to different sites in europe in the next two weeks.  we've sourced a 12 wire 12kw ST head that can be reconfigured for a variety of single and three phase particulars.  it comes with an AVR so the correct voltage can be dialed in at either 50hz or 60hz.  i think we're going to standardize on this genhead, given its attractive flexibility.

the the ability to switch between single, split and three phase seem relevant for other people's imagined applications?

This looks like the perfect set up to mount on my 27hp Kolher powered chipper. I'm thinking of  using it for GEK Chow only :)

Keep it up APL!

Shorter belt is safer too and easier to guard.

Yes it sounds like a nice gen head, what ever you need, it's got it.
