My name is Jonathan and I live off the grid about 5 miles from the teaming metropolis of Albion, CA, (Population 399). I have lived off the grid here for a little over a year. I am decent with electronics and a fair mechanic.
A buddy of mine with a plasma CNC and I stated on our first GEK yesterday. Was a good day, a few mistakes on the way but good progress. Today we are going to start some bending.
My hope is to get a GEK powered generator and then perhaps a GEK powered boiler for hydronic heating. Of course, I'll have to build a house and move out of my trailer first!
I have to say thanks for the resources here. Wouldn't be building a gasifier right now without 'em!
