Hi there my name is Alexander, I live in Auckland New Zealand. I own and operate an arboricultural company and have vast supplies of woodchip. I developed a small to mid scale biodiesel operation which pumped along nicely for a few years until my feed stock supply ran out.

I am very interested in gasification as a fun garage project but also as a potential off grid solution and I am very interested in potentially supplying power to the grid with larger motor small block chevs etc.

I understand there is a file containing the cnc info to produce components
to build one of the gek models? This would be the best place for me to start I guess. My wife and I are currently building a small abode on wheels ( see http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com) and I think the normal size gek would be perfect to power something such as this along with some solar etc.

I must also state that I am a proponent of the end of the modern world as we know it. I really hope it never comes to that but I prefer to be selfsufficent in the meantime.

Treeclimber,  welcome.

It seems that leaves are not ideal and small sticks can cause bridging (causing a dome over a void).  It seems like the ideal 'sorting machine' has yet to be developed. I'm a tree guy here in California (more time as the groundie these days), I'll be working on some sorting and drying designs soon... the gasifier bug has bit me, and it won't be long before I need them.
Cheers
