Have built my gasifer now and wondering what type of fan/blower is everyone else using thats capable of pulling 5-6" durn start up?Was told 5.5/6" is best pull with temp around 1200 at hearth choke point.I just cant pull that with these combustion fans. I am using two combustion blowers and barely pulling a little over 1".Now when I use a shop vac I can pull well over 12".I dont want to ruin a shop vac so I decided to See what should be used. I produce gas with the 1" pull but its orange with little blue and still has tar in it.I have 2 high temp couplers comming for hearth and gas outlets but I am very sure that with only 1" pull with 2 combustion fans is not getting anywhere close to cracking tar.I was thinking combustion motors just havent got enough and looking at maybe a oil burner motor to attact to the blower wheels but dont want to waste time and stock up on useless blowers..

What fan/blower should I be using to pull 5-6" ?I just dont want to hook up to a engine not testing and ensuring a nice blue flame.

I just cant see buying a 600-1800 regerative vacumn pump just for this.... Thanks for your input.

I have a pic of my unit if need be. I have a few changes to make now that I got it going and producing gas but want to see tarless flame before going foward any more.
